While A-SPAN has several regular volunteer programs set up to function on a regularly scheduled basis, we also have other flexible or seasonal volunteer opportunities that can be modified to fit your schedule.

Volunteer Companion

Depending on need, A-SPAN matches committed, responsible volunteers with clients in our Permanent Supportive Housing program who request help in running daily errands, including trips to the grocery store and to medical appointments.  This is a direct service position for adults only, and involves considerable one-on-one contact with clients. A high level of patience, respect and understanding is required for this opportunity, but the rewards are great.

Holiday Opportunities

Client Holiday Party - Every December, A-SPAN hosts a Client Holiday Party for the individuals we serve throughout the year. The event is a festive affair with food, drink, music and gifts, all of which are donated by volunteers and supporters. We also need volunteers the day of the event to serve the holiday meal, distribute the gifs and otherwise assist at the function. Please contact us if you’d like to get involved!

Client Holiday Sponsor - A-SPAN works with 18 individuals in our Permanent Supportive Housing program who require support and assistance to be continually successful, especially during the holiday season. In an effort to meet their needs, we seek Client Holiday Sponsors: volunteers and supporters who would like to contribute towards fulfilling a client’s holiday needs. Gifts for these clients range from things like cleaning supplies to items such as TVs or furniture.
